Message from the Headteacher

I would like to welcome you all to GUST Independent School in Ashington, Northumberland.

We are a wonderful, small, specialist independent school where we encourage our fabulous students to show determination, ambition, respect, empathy and self-control whilst offering them an outstanding learning environment where they can feel safe, happy, confident and successful.

Students are surrounded by highly skilled and extremely caring staff. and, collectively, we offer a broad, balanced and enriching curriculum based on the specific needs of the whole child juxtaposed with specific areas of interest. This, along with our mentoring system, safeguarding and exceptional pastoral care, is something we take great pride in.

All of our staff have a great deal of expertise, and all have specific responsibilities across the school to deliver outstanding learning opportunities for all of our students. They are able to flourish and thrive in extra-, cross- and co-curricular activities, giving them the opportunity to advance to the best colleges and embark on the best apprenticeships, thus giving them the best employment opportunities.

At GUST Independent School, we believe that every student has the right to always feel safe, happy, confident and successful, and our wonderful staff develop excellent relationships with students so that they all go on to achieve both academic and personal success. These ambitions are pillars at the heart of everything that we do here. I invite you to one of our open events or to contact the school directly to visit the school during the day.

Welcome to GUST Independent School, Ashington Northumberland.
