Lest we forget

On Monday 11th November, our school came together to mark Remembrance Day with respect and reflection. At 11 o’clock, we all observed the two minutes’ silence to honour those who have fought and given their lives in wars, past and present.

Later, some of our pupils visited the local cenotaph in Ashington, where we laid a special cross of poppies that we made during our Forest School sessions. Each poppy was carefully crafted by the children as a symbol of remembrance and gratitude.

It was a meaningful experience for everyone, helping us to understand the importance of remembering and giving thanks to those who sacrificed so much for our freedom.
