We were pleased to welcome the VRU into school recently to deliver an important and practical first aid session for our students!
During the visit, students took part in hands-on training using resuscitation mannequin, where they learned the basics of CPR and how to respond in life-threatening situations. This interactive approach helped build both confidence and understanding in a safe, supportive environment.
In addition, the students were taught how to place someone in the recovery position and what steps to take in an emergency. The session focussed on equipping our young people with essential, potentially life-saving skills, while reinforcing the importance of staying calm and acting quickly when it matters most.
The training was engaging and highly valuable, giving students the opportunity to practice real-life scenarios and ask questions throughout. These are vital skills that can make a real difference, both in school and in the wider community.
